Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., better known as Joe Biden, has been an influential figure in American politics for over five decades. Born on November 20, 1942, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he grew up with a deep sense of public service instilled by his family. His father was Joseph Robinette Biden Sr., and his mother was Jean Biden.

Biden’s early years were marked by personal challenges that shaped his character. When he was young, his family moved frequently due to his father’s work as an electrician before settling in Delaware. Tragedy struck when Biden lost two brothers in a car accident during high school, and another brother passed away from cancer shortly after.

After graduating from the University of Delaware with a degree in history, he went on to earn his law degree at Syracuse University. His legal career led him into politics, where he served as a member of the New Castle County Council for two years before being elected to the U.S. Senate in 1972.

Over the course of three decades, Biden rose through the ranks of the Democratic Party, becoming known for his legislative achievements and bipartisan efforts on issues such as gun control, foreign policy, and economic recovery. In 2008, he was a leading candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination but lost to Barack Obama.

In 2020, Joe Biden ran for president on a platform of healing divisions within America and restoring U.S. leadership globally. His campaign emphasized economic recovery, addressing climate change, and expanding access to healthcare. After winning the election, he was inaugurated as the 46th President of the United States in January 2021.

Throughout his career, Biden has been married twice. He first wed Neilia Hunter in 1966, but she tragically died along with their infant daughter while another child was hospitalized after a car accident. In 1977, he married Jill Tracy Jacobs and they have since raised a family together.

Today, Joe Biden continues to shape American politics as president, focusing on domestic issues such as infrastructure investment, education reform, and combating the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. His legacy is being written daily through his efforts towards national unity and global cooperation.
