James Mason
United Kingdom
James Mason appeared in over 100 films in a career spanning more than 50 years, from the wounded Belfast gunman in Odd Man Out 1947 to Rommel in The Desert Fox 1951. He was nominated for three Oscars but never won, yet his creamy velvet voice made him one of cinema's most distinctive actors. Mason died of a heart attack in 1984 in Lausanne, Switzerland.
