Desmond Tutu

South Africa

Desmond Tutu won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984 for his nonviolent opposition to apartheid. The South African Anglican bishop was born in 1931 in Klerksdorp and later acted in The Daily Show and Cold Case Hammarskjöld. He died in Cape Town in 2021 at age 90.
