Buster Keaton directed and starred in The General 1926 and Sherlock Jr. 1924. Known for his deadpan expression and performing his own stunts, he pioneered silent film comedy. After a career decline in the sound era, he was rediscovered and received an Academy Honorary Award in 1960. Keaton died in 1966 at age 70.
