Egypt

Georges Moustaki, born Giuseppe Mustacchi in Alexandria, Egypt in 1934, became a composer and singer. He wrote songs for Édith Piaf, Yves Montand, and Dalida, and had his own international hit Le Métèque in 1969. He died at age 79 in Nice, France from pulmonary problems.
