Seamus Heaney won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1995. He was born on 13 April 1939 in Castledawson, Northern Ireland, and studied at Queen's University Belfast. He worked as a poet, playwright, translator, and lecturer. He died on 30 August 2013 in Dublin, Ireland.
