Hugo Chávez.

Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías served as president of Venezuela from 1999 until his death in 2013, except for a brief period in 2002. He founded the Fifth Republic Movement and later the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, pushing for democratic socialism and Latin American integration. He survived a 2002 coup attempt but died of cancer in Caracas at age 58.
