Gore Vidal

Gore Vidal (born Eugene Luther Gore Vidal on October 3, 1925, in West Point, New York; died July 31, 2012), was a multifaceted American writer and political figure whose work spanned several decades. Gore Vidal’s early life was steeped in privilege and intellect. Born into the prominent Gore family, his father, Eugene Luther Vidal, served as a military officer and later in government roles under President Franklin D. Roosevelt. His mother, Nina S. Vidal passed away on July 31, 2012, from pneumonia at his home in Hollywood Hills, California.
