Urho Kekkonen
Finland
An athlete and cross-country skier from Pielavesi, Kekkonen served as President of Finland from March 1, 1956, to January 27, 1982, the longest term of any elected head of state in the Western world. His presidency focused on maintaining Finland's neutrality during the Cold War, and he established a friendship with Soviet Premier Aleksey Kosygin. Kekkonen appeared in archival footage in films such as State Funeral 2019 and The Helsinki Effect 2025.
