Friedrich Dürrenmatt

Friedrich Dürrenmatt, born 5 January 1921 in Konolfingen, Switzerland, wrote the play The Visit and the novel The Pledge. He won the Georg Büchner Prize in 1986 and was nominated for a Tony Award in 1959. He died of heart failure on 14 December 1990 in Neuchâtel.
