Philippe Labro

Philippe Christian Labro (August 27, 1936 – June 4, 2025) was a French journalist, writer, screenwriter, broadcaster, and film director whose life was characterized by a deep connection to the worlds of literature and cinema. Born in Paris, his formative years were shaped not only by the cultural richness of France but also by his family’s influence and support.

Labro’s journey from student at Washington and Lee University to becoming one of France’s most respected media personalities was marked by a series of milestones that included significant contributions to television programs such as Étincelles, which he co-created with his brother Jacques Labro.
