Ronald Reagan
United States
Ronald Reagan, the 40th U.S. president from 1981 to 1989, started as a Hollywood actor in the 1930s. He led the Screen Actors Guild as president from 1947 to 1952 and again in 1959, then served as California governor from 1967 to 1975. His 1987 demand that Gorbachev tear down the Berlin Wall defined his presidency, and he won 525 electoral votes in 1984.
