Catherine Deneuve made her film debut in 1957 and broke through with The Umbrellas of Cherbourg 1964. She won César Awards for Best Actress for The Last Metro 1980 and Indochine 1992; the latter also earned her an Academy Award nomination. She has received lifetime achievement awards including the Honorary Palme d'Or and Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement.
