Alfred Hitchcock directed 53 feature films over six decades, with his 1960 thriller Psycho earning over $15 million personally. He pioneered suspense techniques and appeared in cameos in most of his films. Hitchcock was knighted in 1979 and received the AFI Life Achievement Award that same year.
