Yasser Arafat

Yasser Arafat, chairman of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, shared the 1994 Nobel Peace Prize. He was born in Cairo in 1929, founded Al Fatah in the mid-1960s, and directed the PLO for decades. He died in 2004 in France from a cerebral hemorrhage.
