After Tamer Hosny’s parents separated when he was seven, his father Hosny Sherif raised him in Cairo, Egypt. He was born there on August 16, 1977. He later earned a degree in Media Studies from October 6 University.

Tamer Hosny released his first single in 2000 and officially launched his artistic career in 2002. His breakthrough came with the 2007 romantic comedy Omar & Salma, leading to hits like Captain Hima 2008 and Light of My Eyes 2010. In 2010, he won Best African Artist at the Africa Music Awards with Jermaine Jackson presenting the award. He created his first drama series Adam in 2011, which won Best Series in multiple surveys.
