Richard Branson signed Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells as the first artist on his Virgin Records label in 1973. The album became a multi-million seller after its use in The Exorcist. Branson later founded Virgin Atlantic Airways after a cancelled flight, and was knighted in 2000. He has made cameo appearances in TV shows like Friends and The Simpsons.
