Alek Wek

In 1995, Alek Wek made her debut in Tina Turner's GoldenEye music video at age 18, shortly after being discovered at a market in London. She went on to become one of the first dark-skinned African models to grace the covers of major fashion magazines like Vogue and Elle in the mid-1990s. Wek also walked the runway for Victoria's Secret, Chanel, and Calvin Klein, and acted in films such as The Four Feathers and Suspiria.
