E. Gordon Craig

E. Gordon Craig gave up acting in 1897 to focus on stage design. Son of Ellen Terry, he debuted at age six in Olivia. He founded the School for the Art of the Theatre in Florence in 1903 and designed the Moscow Art Theatre's 1910 Hamlet. He received the Companion of Honour in 1956.
