Ben Stiller won an Emmy for The Ben Stiller Show in 1993 after the show was cancelled. He directed and starred in the cult classic Reality Bites in 1994 and later broke into mainstream comedy with There's Something About Mary in 1998. Stiller also earned critical acclaim for directing Tropic Thunder in 2008, which earned Robert Downey Jr. an Oscar nomination.
