At age 19, Mary Shelley completed her most famous work, Frankenstein: or, The Modern Prometheus, published in 1818. The novel was conceived during a summer spent with Lord Byron and Percy Bysshe Shelley near Geneva in 1816. She also wrote other novels like The Last Man 1826 and historical fictions. In 1975, she posthumously won the Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation for Young Frankenstein.
