Thomas Sankara
Thomas Sankara, born December 21, 1949, became President of Burkina Faso in 1983 and implemented anti-imperialist reforms. He was assassinated on October 15, 1987 at age 37. His archive footage appears in documentaries including Concerning Violence 2014 and Capitaine Thomas Sankara 2012. He posthumously received the Order of José Martí.
