Leian Paul Piper, later known as Billie Piper, was born on September 22, 1982 in Swindon, Wiltshire, England. She attended Bradon Forest School before training at Sylvia Young Theatre School. At age 14, she was spotted by Innocent Records managing director Hugh Goldsmith, who signed her to a three-album deal after hearing her vocals.
