Kseniya Sobchak’s father, Anatoly Sobchak, was the first democratically elected mayor of Saint Petersburg and tutored Vladimir Putin. She was born on November 5, 1981 in Leningrad. Her mother, Ljudmila Narusova, is a politician. In 1998, Sobchak graduated from a special school attached to Herzen University and enrolled at Saint Petersburg State University. In 2001, she moved to Moscow to become a clothes designer and promoter of rubber boots.

Sobchak made her film debut in the 2004 autobiographical movie Thieves and Prostitutes, based on her childhood. She played Eva Braun in the 2008 parody Hitler Goes Kaput!. In 2019, she starred in the series Russian Affairs as a magazine editor-in-chief. In 2020, she appeared as herself in the sci-fi series AnnDroid and took a leading role in the drama 257 Reasons to Live. Since 2001, she has hosted the reality show Last Hero. She also participates in opposition to President Vladimir Putin. She received the Silver Play Button and Gold Play Button awards for her YouTube channel.

Sobchak married director Konstantin Bogomolov on September 13, 2019. She was previously married to actor Maksim Vitorgan from 2013 until their separation, which she confirmed in March 2019. With Vitorgan, she has a son, Platon Vitorgan, born November 18, 2016. Sobchak is the ex-step-mother of Vitorgan’s children from a previous marriage: Polina born 1996 and Daniil born 2000. In 2019, she was arrested and interrogated for possession of over 1.5 million dollars in cash without explanation.

Some call Kseniya Sobchak Russia’s It girl and Russia’s Paris Hilton. She used her platform for political activism, opposing Vladimir Putin. Her father’s role as mayor and tutor to Putin adds complexity to her public image. She invested 1 million dollars in a Russian telecom company and built a substantial social media following.
