On 31 May 1963, Viktor Orbán was born in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, to Erzsébet Sípos and Győző Bálint Orbán. He grew up with two brothers, Győző and Áron. His early education began at Teleki Blanka high school and junior high school. He then studied at Eötvös Loránd University and later at Pembroke College, Oxford, on a Soros scholarship. Orbán developed a passion for soccer early, a sport he still plays.
Viktor Orbán first gained prominence as a leader of the anti-communist opposition in the late 1980s and was elected prime minister in 1998, becoming the youngest Hungarian prime minister to date. After his party Fidesz lost the 2002 election, he returned to power in 2010 and has remained in office continuously since.
