Lucette Lévy and Roger Zemmour welcomed their son Eric in Montreuil, Seine-Saint-Denis, France on 31 August 1958. He attended École Yabné, a Jewish religious school in Paris, and later studied at Sciences Po. His education at these institutions shaped his career as a writer and political commentator.

In 2006, Zemmour first appeared on television as a panelist on the French talk show On N’est Pas Couché. That same year, he was a guest on Salut Les Terriens! and participated in the documentary Being Jacques Chirac. As a writer, he has published several books and won three literary prizes: the Prix Combourg-Chateaubriand, Prix du livre incorrect, and Prix Richelieu. Zemmour married Mylène Chichportich, and they have three children: Hugo born 1997, Thibault born 1998, and Clarisse born 2004. He keeps his family life relatively private, though he occasionally mentions his children in interviews.
