Humphrey Bogart, born on Christmas Day 1899 in New York City, became one of Hollywood's greatest stars with his iconic role as Rick Blaine in Casablanca 1942. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for The African Queen 1951 and was nominated for Casablanca and The Caine Mutiny 1954. He died of esophageal cancer on January 14, 1957, at age 57.
