Early life

Stephanie Marie McMahon was born on September 24, 1976 in Hartford, Connecticut, to Linda and Vince McMahon. Raised in professional wrestling, she attended Greenwich Country Day School and later Greenwich High School, graduating in 1995. By age 12, she screened phone calls and modeled clothing for WWF magazines. She briefly considered acting before joining the family business full-time.

Career

Stephanie McMahon debuted as a major on-air personality in 1999, playing a central role in WWF storylines. She served as General Manager of WWE Smackdown from July 2002 to October 2003, then became head writer for the brand in 2004. Moving behind the camera, she was named Executive Vice President of Creative, the first woman to lead WWE’s creative writing and talent relations. Appointed Chief Brand Officer in 2013, she championed the Women’s Evolution, pushing for equal screen time and opportunities for female performers. In June 2022, she became interim Chairwoman and CEO after her father Vince McMahon stepped down, making the role permanent in July 2022. She resigned in January 2023 shortly after Vince McMahon returned.

Personal life

Stephanie McMahon married Paul Levesque, known as Triple H, on October 25, 2003 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Sleepy Hollow, New York. Attendees included Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, and Mick Foley. The couple has three daughters: Aurora Rose born July 24, 2006, Murphy Claire July 28, 2008, and Vaughn Evelyn August 24, 2010. Stephanie earned a Doctorate in Business Administration from Robert Morris University in May 2019.
