The Cuomo political family grew by one on August 9, 1970, with the birth of Chris Cuomo in Queens, New York City. His father, Mario Cuomo, served as Governor of New York, and his mother Matilda Cuomo raised him alongside siblings Andrew, Margaret, and Maria. He attended The Albany Academy for secondary education before earning his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his law degree from Fordham University School of Law.

A licensed attorney, Chris Cuomo also writes, produces, and acts. He advises non-profit organizations including The 2030 Center and The Creative Coalition. In 1997, People magazine named him one of the 50 Most Beautiful People. He has appeared as a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert 2015 and Real Time with Bill Maher 2003. In 2022, he anchored his own program Cuomo. Cuomo won the Gerald Loeb Award for excellence in business journalism.

Chris Cuomo is married to Cristina Greeven Cuomo. They have two children: daughter Bella Cuomo and son Mario Cuomo, born in November 2005. He is the younger brother of former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, as well as Margaret Cuomo and Maria Cuomo Cole. Through his siblings, he is brother-in-law of fashion designer Kenneth Cole and ex-brother-in-law of Kerry Kennedy. He goes by the nickname Fredo and has been called CNN’s Resident Bodybuilder and The Governor’s Brother.

Chris Cuomo won the Gerald Loeb Award and maintains a media presence through talk show appearances and his program Cuomo. He is identified as the son of Governor Mario Cuomo and the brother of Governor Andrew Cuomo, and as a Gerald Loeb Award recipient.
