Early life

Guy Fieri was born Guy Ramsay Ferry on January 22, 1968 in Columbus, Ohio, to Jim and Penny Ferry. He grew up with a younger sister, Morgan, who died in 2011. His paternal grandfather was Italian, and he also has Scots-Irish and English ancestry.

Fieri attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management in 1990. While at UNLV, he joined Alpha Tau Omega and worked in restaurants, laying the groundwork for his culinary career.

Career

Fieri’s television breakthrough came in 2006 when he began hosting Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on the Food Network. The show, which highlights local diners, drive-ins, and dives across America, became a long-running hit. He also hosted other shows like Guy’s Ranch Kitchen and competed on The Next Food Network Star.
