Guy Fieri was born Guy Ramsay Ferry on January 22, 1968 in Columbus, Ohio, to Jim and Penny Ferry. He grew up with a younger sister, Morgan, who died in 2011. His paternal grandfather was Italian, and he also has Scots-Irish and English ancestry.

Fieri attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management in 1990. While at UNLV, he joined Alpha Tau Omega and worked in restaurants, laying the groundwork for his culinary career.

Fieri’s television breakthrough came in 2006 when he began hosting Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on the Food Network. The show, which highlights local diners, drive-ins, and dives across America, became a long-running hit. He also hosted other shows like Guy’s Ranch Kitchen and competed on The Next Food Network Star.

In 2020, he appeared in the film The War with Grandpa, and he is set to appear in Happy Gilmore 2 in 2025. Fieri has appeared as a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Kelly Clarkson Show. His energetic personality and catchphrases have made him a household name.

Fieri married Lori Fieri in 1995. They have two sons: Hunter, born August 7, 1996, and Ryder, born in 2005. The family resides in Santa Rosa, California.

His younger sister Morgan died in 2011 at age 38. Fieri has a large tattoo on his left arm in her memory. He is close friends with Nathan Lyon and Duff Goldman. Fieri collects classic American cars, including a 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle and a 1968 Pontiac Firebird.

Guy Fieri’s food television empire began with Diners, Drive-ins and Dives in 2006, a show that redefined culinary travel. In 2019 he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His signature phrase Welcome to Flavortown appears on merchandise and in popular culture.
