Lev Trotskiy

Leon Trotsky was a communist leader who, alongside Vladimir Lenin, led the 1917 Russian Revolution. He served as commissar for foreign affairs, negotiating the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk in 1918, and then founded the Red Army, which he led during the Russian Civil War. After Lenin's death, he struggled for power with Joseph Stalin and was eventually expelled from Russia in 1936. He was assassinated in Mexico in 1940 by Ramon Mercader, an agent of Stalin.
