According to Mafia boss turned government informant Jimmy The Weasel Fratianno, several top Chicago Mafia members were furious about the portrayal of Italians in The Untouchables, of which Arnaz was executive producer, and put out a contract on his life. Hitmen waited outside his house but Arnaz never came home, and the plot was called off.
