Antonije Pušić was born on June 14, 1963 in Kotor, Montenegro, then part of Yugoslavia. His mother Bosiljka Pušić raised him alongside his brother Andrija Pušić. He developed an early interest in music and later enrolled at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, University of Belgrade, where he studied tourism—an unusual background for a rock musician. This academic pursuit did not deter his musical ambitions, and he soon adopted the stage name Rambo Amadeus.

Rambo Amadeus entered the music scene with a blend of R&B, folk, funk, and jazz, his lyrics witty, absurd, and satirical. His live performances are noted for their energy, parody, and political satire. He composed music for numerous theater shows and films. His acting credits include Bruno X in Dream Marmalade 1994, Rock Star in Hole in the Soul 1994, Mutavi in Boomerang 2001, and Music guru in Life According to Moskri 2017. During the 1990s, his fan base remained untouched by ethnic divisions, a rare achievement during the Yugoslav wars. He continues to perform with his band across the Balkan region and in diaspora communities worldwide.
