Yoko Ono

Yoko Ono, born February 18, 1933, in Tokyo, Japan, survived the bombing of Tokyo in 1945 and became a leading conceptual artist in the 1960s Fluxus movement. She married John Lennon in 1969, and together they created the Grammy-winning album Double Fantasy in 1980. Ono continues to influence art and activism with her peace campaigns and avant-garde works.
