Mendonça gained recognition as a sertanejo composer and soundtrack artist. Her songs appeared in productions such as Lady Night 2017 and The Fault Is Cabral’s 2016, where she performed as herself. She won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Sertaneja Music Album twice. Brazil also awarded her the Order of Cultural Merit.
