Cecil B. DeMille produced and directed 70 films, including the biblical epic The Ten Commandments 1956 and the circus drama The Greatest Show on Earth 1952, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. He co-founded the Lasky Film Company in 1913, which evolved into Paramount Pictures, and hosted Lux Radio Theatre from 1936 to 1945. DeMille was a co-founder of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the namesake of the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award.
